About us
Manon van Oldenbarneveld and Sankale ole Ntutu, the founders of the foundation, are living in Kenya. Sankale, born in Maasai land, is a nature guide and Maasai Community Chief in the area. Manon, born in The Netherlands, has a background in development aid and is specialized in eco- tourism in East Africa. Together they have built an eco camp and both they are very much committed to a sustainable future for the Maasai people and the wild animals in the Masai Mara Ecosystem.
They organize regular meetings with the community to investigate the needs and issues and discuss together how these can be achieved or solved. A Community Based Organization (CBO) is formed with elected community members. The group reports about new issues and local developments to Sankale and Manon.
With members of KWS (Kenya Wildlife Service) and KWCA (Kenya Wildlife Conservancies Association) we exchange knowledge on restoring and conserving nature in the area.
The Dutch board members
who are situated in The Netherlands are Kim Berghout and Nick Platje. They support all projects where they can and are mainly involved in marketing and fundraising activities.
Furthermore we have our ambassadors and sponsors that help us with our mission.
